One Lap of America

Tire Rack One Lap of America is the week-long event Brock Yates started: one car, driven on the street from track to track across the country and timed at every stop. It starts at Tire Rack in South Bend, Indiana, and the car you drive there is the car you race, so it has to survive the highway as well as the track.

Race Me members Eric Pilarczyk and Gabriel Young, both of Colorado Springs, run it in Dadbod Carmod #3, an orange 2006 Lotus Elise. In 2026 they took it to a class podium, 3rd in Sports GT-2 Small Bore, despite an engine fire that kept them out of the final events.

2026

April 29 to May 8, running as #49: trailered to the start, then a week of tracks and transit stages, including the banking at Nashville Superspeedway. An engine fire at Road America ended the run before the final events, and the Elise still finished 3rd of 8 in Sports GT-2 Small Bore with 385 class points, and 40th overall.

2025

April 30 to May 10, running as #64: the start at Tire Rack, stops including World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, and a week of track sessions and long transit stages. At the last track a shifter cable came loose, and the penalties that followed cost places: the Elise finished 8th of 13 in Sports GT-1 Small Bore with 505 class points, and 49th overall. It was one of three Dadbod Carmod Elises in the class alongside #58 (10th) and #68 (12th).
